JANUARY 1ST, 1869

Our Humble Beginnings

The first Sigma Nu chapter, the Alpha Chapter, was officially founded at Virginia Military Institute in secret on a limestone outcropping on the parade grounds. The goal of this new institution was to combat the common practice of intense hazing that was present throughout the country.

MAY 5TH, 1956

Zeta Chi Founding

The founders of the University of Houston chapter were initally known as the Cavaliers Drinking Club. These brothers were looking to join a national organization that promoted a higher purpose, and, after learning of Sigma Nu International Fraternity and with the help of the national head quarters, founded the Zeta Chi chapter.

SUMMER, 2018

Chapter House Relocation

After spending some time at Bayou Oaks on campus, the chapter elected to move off campus to a newly built property. The new compound features 15 individual bedrooms with private bathrooms, a study room, four common areas complete with kitchens, and a large green space inbetween the houses.
