THE ZETA CHI CHAPTER AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON

Our Humble Beginnings
The first Sigma Nu chapter, the Alpha Chapter, was officially founded at Virginia Military Institute in secret on a limestone outcropping on the university's parade grounds. The goal of this new institution was to combat the common practice of intense hazing that was present throughout the country.
MAY 5TH, 1956
Zeta Chi Founding
The founders of the University of Houston chapter were initially known as the Cavaliers Drinking Club. These brothers were looking to join a national organization that promoted a higher purpose, and, after learning of the Sigma Nu International Fraternity and with the help of the national headquarters, founded the Zeta Chi chapter.
